What kind of Power heads are you using?

I have the Wavemaker pro and I really like it. But from what I know only maxijet PH "like" the on off of any wave maker.

I have heard and red the same thing Jason. That is the reason I am going with the SCWD. No electric to worry about, no starting and stopping of the pump. Simple operation. I will have it in hand next week I beleive.

I have a buddy who has used one for 8 months with not 1 problem. Hopefully I am as lucky.

Let me know how it works out. I was looking at a squid for my tank, but was advised to wait for a bigger/new version. At 210 I know I have dead spots.

I did meet a guy running 2 squids on a 250. He said it worked great for him. Been using them for 3 months or so now. He had one on a closed loop and the other from the sump. he did not mention dead spots to me, but I did not ask either.

I will let oyu know. This will be on a 75g, far cry from a 210.

Funny, I was thinking about running 2. I couldn'g get a good answer how big of a pump to use for optimum cycling. What are you planning on running?

Oh, the 210 is in my office. I get to write it off, but it's ended up costing $$$ more than I planned. Oh well, live and learn. My eyes have always been bigger than my stomach. On the other hand, it's wayyyy cooool and I've learned a lot more in a very short period.

I am/will be using a mag 9.5 The guy I met running 2 was using a mag 12 for each. Seemed to be enough flow from what I saw.

What do you do Blade? I see the bike and asume you race or are a fan? I too raced a GXXR back in the day in the WERA class. 750. Miss it a lot.

This hobby is fun and expensive all at the same time. My wife wants to kill me with all the money we spend on things we don't need. I guess that is part of the learning curve though.

that's generally what I've been hearing. I still can't find out the cycle time with different pumps.

I'm one of those evil insurance agent guys, although I'm relatively harmless. I wholesale mostly to agents. This is the 26th year I've been doing this. Back in the day workks for me. I'm 48. No thoughts of racing. Just track days. Lately I'm one of those guys wearing the orange shirt over the leathers trying to show lines and keep newbees from getting hurt. It keeps me out of trouble, sort of. Had the right shoulder rebuild last year from a high side a few years back... I'm now officially very slow. Shoot, aside from American Supercamp I never made it on the track in 04. To be honest I'm on my second go and I have a 4 year old girl that learned to say be careful daddy when I load the trailer. Sigh, I have 2 boys by the last and that didn't change me, but little girls just... break my heart. FYI, you are the 2nd on this board that is an x racer that brought it up. since you are a homeboy check out Chigagolandsportbikes.com. Lots of Bros down your way. Do you still ride? Wera 750 what? You are showing your age too.

My wife is a HIMI. She wants me to put in a 300. Ouch! Maybe next year. The 210 killed most of the 2005 bike budget.

The mag 12 works for the guy I met. Not to much and not to little. Seems to meet the specs of squid also.

My wife is in the insurance field as well. Been there for 15 years. She handles property claims. She seems to like it. Yes I was a former racer myself. I got hurt in 2001 on the job and have not been on a bike since. I think I am ready again, just been spending money on this reef stuff instead of saving for a bike. I hurt my right hand and arm and suffered permanent nerve damage that resulted in a spinal cord stimulator implant being necessary for mt to fution again. The hand and arm have come back after 3 years of hard therapy and will. Due to the injury we soldf the bike, and lost the house we were looking to build. Mortgage Co. did not want to loan a guy on work comp. So we have been stuck in an apt. We plan to be out of here within the next year. Hoping March 2006. SO no bike until we get the house. I am looking to slow down. I got into the stunting stuff before the injury along with track days. Wife did not like the stunting so I have promised to slow down and get a cruiser.

Hopefully the shoulder heals up well for you long term. They can be hell from what I ahve seen in therapy. I would love to go to some track days again as I miss it a lot. I was always a Suzuki guy and had many from the start of them up to the new one in 2001 right before my injury. Maybe I will come out for a track day or 2 and see how I feel. Need to get on a bike again and see how that goes first before jumping on the track.

The kid thing has to be hard. Especially girls. I myself have none, but do have 2 very young adopted sisters and saw a huge change in my father. I am 32 by the way. U have a couple years on me. I am sure we have seen eachother at the track without even knowing it.

The 300 would be nice. My wife wants a 300 when we get the house also. A peninsula type to boot. That will be a fun one, but well worth it I am sure. They look nice. Plus the bigger you go the more corals you can have... [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I suggested a custom 500 or bigger since we were going to do sharks at one point and had even ordered the tank. It all fell through with here revelation that sharks (the type we had) were boring. Which they were. marbled cat sharks. lay around all day and are up when the lights are out. SO it's back to the drawing board for me anyway. She is set on the 300 peninsula. I am wanting bigger of course.
