| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? About half of the squids we SOLD (no longer carry em) were returned as they dramatically cutt water flow in any one direction. For $50 the wavemaker timer is the best for the least ime. I have a wavemaster pro and love it. I am actually a bit ticked that it gave me just as good (as far as i can see) of results as a $200 model. The squid is just a reduced gear.....same as the little hydo biowheel attachment for PH;d but less reliable and more expensive. If you have good corraline algae growth it clogs in a few weeks-months. I like the wave master pro, so do my anemones and corals _________ Yes, tiny has an 11" legspan...... |

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? Well that is news to me. However, with you working in a LFS I presume, you would know better than I. I picked up my squid for $30. We shall see what happens. If it does not work it does not work. I have seen good luck with it even on tanks with heavy coraline.
Thank you for the info Sea_Splender. I will let you know how it goes. If it does not work I can always upgrade. Does the wavemaker shorten the life of your pump with the constant on and off switching? That is what I was afraid of and the reason for going with the squid.
Thanks,
T

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? I will be using Mag 9.5 for my pumps if I do end up switching to the wavemaker. Just want to make sure these pumps will function fine with this type of unit.
Thanks,

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? Go with the red sea wavemaster pro. If a prefilter is run on the SCWD it should last a long time. I have customers who have 1 year old SCWDS running with no problems. Run it with a mag 12 and it is a nice set up! |

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? When using the Mag 12, can we run it full on or should we put a ball valve on it and reduce it a bit? If I recall, the scwd can only handle 5 psi.
Thanks,

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? run it full out. They are rated for 1200 GPH. I actually have customers who have ran them over a year with a mag 18, but i do not recomend this. |

| Re: which wavemaker should i buy.......???? Do you sell the Mag 12? I like to support the sponsors when I can. If so what is the cost?
Thank you for your time and advice. It is much appreciated.
