Default Water movement choice. Help!

I need to make a choice for water movement. My preferences are either 3 ea. Maxijet 106 gph with a Natural Wave timer or 2 ea. 160 gph Power Sweeps with rotating output. The price difference doesn't matter that much to me. I am looking for the best movement around my reef for both filtration and health of corals (which I don't have yet). I also want to minimize heat output as I don't want to invest in a chiller for this small tank and we like to keep our personal environment at no less than 76 degrees (which means all the pumps and lights can't add more than 2 or 3 degrees). BTW I have discounted the Red Sea Wavemaster Pro because of many bad reports about reliability and service. Any thoughts?

Look into the Wave2k! There is a small version of the large units(both corner and center) No electricity or powercords inside the tank as the motor runs on the outside of the tank by use of belts. Check out the recent post on them. Also look at wave2k.com.
If that doesn't suit your needs then look into the Seio powerheads.

Thanks C-Reefer. I will also look into the Wave2K. Regarding the Seio, I think the smallest is 620 gph and they are not suitable to be switched on and off by a wavemaker. Is that right? and would you do one or two in a 30 Gal aquarium?

The only powerheads that can handle being switched on and off are maxi-jets. All the other powerheads will stop working in a short period of time.

I've Used the SCWD and it gets clogged quickly and will fail over time.

I have also heard the power sweeps are very unreliable. I've used Maxijets for ever and they are very reliable.

This has been most interesting. I could use some additional comments on the Seios. How many in a 30 gal reef aquarium? Is 620 gph too High? etc. I think the wave2K uses up a bit too much real estate in this tank. Perhaps I should just use the Maxijets and set up a spray bar with the Natural Wave timer. I would probably use a Wave2K with a larger tank.
