Well where i found this coral it was sorrounded by tiny baby glass shrimp. I'm going to try and flood the tank with glass shrimp once a week and then pump them off. I think I can simulate it's natural environment like that. It was extremely close to the surface when I found it maybe about 6 inches.

No I don't have it in the cycling tank, I'm not that cruel. I have it in another tank that isn't cycled, but it isn't a closed system either. It's 10 Gal and a completely open system. Kind of. fresh natural sea water is pumped into it every couple of days. 100% water change. Nothing dies.
