Thanks for all the help and support you all. I have T5 HO 4x54 but I'm going to upgrade in a few months when my tank is really up an going. So it looks like I'm going to need to take a trip to the LFS. Quick side question, should I provide CO2 in my tank. It's 75g, working on a refugium, indo mushroom, hammerhead, clean-up crew, cycling damsels(cycle is well over but they're happy). Is it really something that I need?

Why would you want to add Co2 to your tank unless you're running a calcium reactor?

You shouldn't need Co2 for non reactor use.

Gosh, I must have a dozen timers, and could use a couple more.

Here is the message that has just been posted:

Yea, nice 180. I'v got a 75, obviously a beginner. so maybe you could be a little less snide next time. isn't this the proper forum for questions? thanks.

What's up with that? Dude it makes no difference how big your tank is or how long you've been in the hobby. For the record I was mearly trying to figure out what you were trying to do. As for being "snide" I don't feel like I was. Sorry if I can't read your mind bro. I'll keep my questions to myself and you can find someone else to help you out. That is if you don't piss in their Cheerio's as well.

Sorry for trying to help you out in the first place.

Default gotta be a man and say... I'm sorry Kogle

Hey, I apologize for the kurt response. I realize you were offering advice and you really didn't have to spend the time at all. I'm just a little out of sorts with the local stores around here not giving up any of their almighty knowledge. That having been said, I am seriously apologetic.

Man I really appreciate you stepping up and saying sorry. I cuoldn't figure out what I said to get you so upset. To clear the air on my first question I guess I was thinking that you might be trying to add straight C02 like some people do for plants in their freshwater tanks. I wanted to ask why you were thinking that instead of jumping to conclusions though.
About my 180, I don't know if I'd say it's nice or not right now. I had to tear it down and nuke everything so it's still in the process of going back together. heck I just got it filled last night with RO water. Going to add salt tonight. Anyhow with that being said I wanted to let you know that I started in this hobby with a 55. I have not forgotten where I came from and I'm still humbled every day by this hobby.
Don't worry about how new you are to the hobby. Anyone that is really wanting to help you will not care how much you know or don't know. I personlly would rather help someone new to the hobby. It seems the "noobs" are the one's really wanting to listen and learn.

As for your issues with the local fish stores I would not put too much weight into what they say. They mearly want to sell you something. Most of the people here help becasue they want to and want to see you succeed rather than just make some money off of you.

Karma to you for the apology!

Well that makes my day that much better, honestly. Well what I'm hearing, and reading is that fresh water plants need co2. It crossed my mind that maybe corals that photosynthesize may need the help. 3reef has really been the most helpful site I ever could have stumbled across. BTW how/why do you nuke a tank?

There are a few ways to nuke a tank. Basically it's killing everything in the tank, sand, and rock you don't want to keep. I had a really bad algae infestation that I battled for well over a year. Finally gave up and bleached everything. Bought a new RO/DI and I'm still in the process of starting over.

If you've got the time boredm check out my 180 thread at the bottom of my signature. I tried to document what I could. You can also see what my 55 looked like before I upgraded.
