| That sucks. Maybe time to explore PH modifications. The Tunze Turbelle Stream, the Hydor Koralia and the Vortech Propeller Pump are three units that by design, are very much fish safe.
Look into what the difference is B/W what you use, and the designs of these three above, and you're bound to never have this issue again.

| | 3reef Moderator | I would think a healthy fish could avoid being sucked to a power head intake.
Could there be other factors that caused it's death.
How old is the tank? What are your Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate levels?

| ok um ammonia is 0 nitrites are at 0 and nitrates are at 10, everything is good, um 5 weeks old is the tank, but i bought it already established and kept 60% of the water and everything was fine, but i noticed he wasnt eating as much the two days b4 he dided and developed like a black looking spot that covered like a quater size on his body, and he was about 2-3 inches, i put my inger by the strongest power head and didnt barley feel a suction and he was caught in a less strong power head, do you think he had a deaese? |
