| Tang and Flame Angel Behavior I am new to the hobby. My Yellow Tang had moderate HLLE. Beginning last night, the angel began picking the necrotic tissue of f of the tang. Today you would not know the tang ever had HLLE! The tang is in love with the angel. Is this amazing or not?

I've never heard of that behavior and yes it is amazing. Tell us more about your tank set-up, livestock, and how long your tank has been up and running.
Post a picture of yourself and tank in the gallery and if you haven't already done so, put a pushpin in the member map amd edit your profile to include your tank description.

| Re: Tang and Flame Angel Behavior Head and Lateral Line Erosion is a severely disfiguring disease characterized by erosions and ulcerations of the lateral line and sensory organs of fish. It is commonly seen in surgeon fishes (Zebrasoma spp.) and angelfishes (Pomacanthus spp.), and to a lesser degree in many other species. It affects the fishes balance and ability to properly navigate. |

| Re: Tang and Flame Angel Behavior Ymmm. Tang had erosions of face and lateral line plus orange patches on its body. If parasite which one? Also, I have a 55 gallon fish only tank, 6 months old, with 1 angel, 1 tang, 1 jawfish, 1 goby and 2 blennies. Now that I look closey at the angel she seems to have loss of coloration around her face and possibly small white patches near her gills |

| Re: Tang and Flame Angel Behavior Thanl you so much for referral to the article...the yellow tang definitely had HLLE. I'm getting a cleaner shrimp today to help with any external parasites. I had one but only lasted one day. |
