Default Stray voltage question

Tangster...I figure you'll be the one to answer this. When testing water for stray voltage, you put the red lead of the voltmeter into the water and the black lead onto a grounded screw, say, like on the water heater that is sitting next to it, correct? I went and put one finger into the tank this morning ad felt a very small tingle....hmm how much voltage is too much and how do I ground it?

Yes I did. I thought it was from the little cut and the salt water...It reads 45.8 volts ac what do I need to do? Also...I figure that's why my fish are swiming so erratically the foxface is up and down and all ove the tank

Yes that would cause them to swim like crazy! how fast did you remove your hand ?? It will cause ich and real diseases also Like Lateral line and Halli I think its labeled ? Ever just see them all dart like something scared them ? Oh there are tons of books and experts that say its not possible and that the Probe will add to the problem ! LOL thats why i don't read or by the books ! You can get them at a LFS or on line ? we have them here if you need one ? let me know I'll ge it out for you ASAP.

Aquarium Titanium Ground Probe

You can also make one yourself with a titanium bicycle spoke but I'll have to look for those instructions for you.
