When I converted over I used 20 gallon from the original and 20 gallons live water, i added 40lbs of new live sand, I moved my 50lbs of live rock, added nitrifyers and stuff.
So I thought it wasn't like a new tank |

| From what I've heard and read you will still go through a cycle like that. Probably would have been better to wait awhile on adding the livestock to the new tank from what I understand, but hopefully everything will work out. | There really is no such thing as "live water". Also, even if your rock was out of the water for only a few minutes, there would have been some bacterial die off. Hopefully, the tank will balance out for you soon! |

Water params...just like yours
Whatever?...Is sign you need to increase amount and frequency of water changes...
Keep testing regularly until you are satisfied your biofilter is up to par with your bioload.

| corals do not "poop"...well ok, some do, but should not create a cycle. What creates a cycle is adding 9 fish to an essentially new tank. All adding "established" (and I use that term loosely since your 1st tank was only 6m old) LR, LS and old water helps with is not having a big swing in ammonia, nitrites & nitrates. IMO, for the health of the fish in the long term, get rid of some. You have a large bio load, therefor, you will always most likely have high nitrates. _________ Kimmy |
