specific gravity Help

I was wondering how to adjust specific gravitie . If the ideal is 1.020- 1.025 if its over that how to adjust it. If its lower how to adjust it? Thanks

If too high, add freshwater to tank. If too low, make a bucket of much higher SG water and add enough to raise level. Do not lower or raise too fast, or fish will get stressed

the I deal would be around 1.023-1.-026

To increase add more salt to decrease add more water
But mix the salt befor to add and dont try to change it to much in one go.

My meter must be messed up then. I measure tank and it says around 1.026 and then I measured reg water from tap and it says same thing.... However, I know that I have salt in the tank, as I add it when I do water changes and I only use ro water for top off...

You need to double check your hydrometer or stop drinking saltwater (JK). If your RO/DI also tests at 1.026 you may think about a refractometer. From what I understand they are much more accurate, and when you take you water to the LFS that is what they will test it with (hopefully).

I would not suggest messing with your salinity until you make sure you are getting accurate readings.

It may need to be soaked in warm water.. Salt can dry up on the swing arm and give you some crazy readings and also little air bubbles from the faucet aerator will cause them to swing up also..

It just comes with experience gained from having had broken and or repaired or built / made about everything connected to this hobby at some point or the other in my lifetime of messing with it.. (: I don't got me know knowledge I just got me some sperience
