| Should I run my skimmer while cycling. Should I run my protien skimmer while I am cycling the tank? I have about 60 -70 pounds of live rock, regular sand which I will seed from a friends tank later. the chem's are:
Ammonia:2.5
Nitrite: btween 0.2 and 0.5 |

| okay someone at a lfs said to turn it on. I thought that was wrong because I had read in a book not too. and now 3reef has come through once again.
what happens if you do run the skimmer? |

| Theres no need to run the skimmer while cycling b/c theres nothing to clean. You dont even need the lights to be on. | Skimming will also retard the coralline expansion as it skims off the new spores no skimming required (:
