questions about aquascaping w/ my LR

I just ordered 15 lbs. of LR and i got it 2 days ago. it's not finishing curing. I'm not sure where to put it for the best look and purpose. I'm new to this this is my first reef tank. i 've had it up for about 11 months now. I need some help on where to put it. i'll try and post a pic but my camera sucks.

if you can find the book The New Marine Aqarium it has several ways to put your lr.

island formation - a loosely assembled mound in the center of the tank with space around it

atoll formation - kind of a horse shoe shape mound with space around the outside of the tank

single peak - a high mound in one corner of the tank sloping down to the other end of the tank

2 peaks - a mound in one corner of the tank with another mound in the opposite corner looks like a vally running thru it

also using pvc pipe underneath or thru the rock
