| Putting dark sheet on back of Aquarium Do you experienced members put a dark sheet as background on the back of the tank or leave it clear. Read something to the effect that this will not create stress for the fish. Is this true? |

| Re: Putting dark sheet on back of Aquarium Some fish do not like there reflction on the glass. I personnaly use a black backing on my tanks. But its up to you... youll get different opinions just here on 3reef. Some use that plastic sheet on the back some paint the back of the tank some leave it clear... so do what you like.

| Re: Putting dark sheet on back of Aquarium Mine is black, I have seen blue or other colors. I really think it should be based on personal preference instead of some technical reason. Just my .02

| Re: Putting dark sheet on back of Aquarium I have used a mirror for the back of my FOWLR tanks for years. The fish dont seem to mind it. Ocassionally a fish will see its reflection and get worked up but I dont think it stresses them out. I think it makes life a little more interesting for the fish rather than just swimming back and forth. It also adds light to the tank by reflecting the light back into the tank. Most auto glass companies will cut a mirror to size. My 120g has a 60" 1/4 thickness mirror for $60.00 _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam
