Powercuts or Blackouts!

How long do you think a tank will last if there is a powercut/blackout and all filters and everything shutsdown?

Many factors would go into giving a proper answer to your question. What is the temperature outside when it happens? 105? or 15? (fahrenheit of course) Are you present at the time of outage or is the tank all by itself? Is it a Fish only tank, or a FOWLR, or is it a full blown reef? Let's say, for the sake of coming up with some kind of answer, that the temp outside is pretty moderate, let's say 72 degrees, and the tank is a full blown reef, and that you are not there, maybe on vacation when it happens. I would venture a guess that the tank would be able to survive with minimal die-off for over 1 full day. Hope that helps in some way.

Cool yea it did

I'm looking to have a 75 Gallon full blown reef.. No heater or cooler. My tank has an ecosystem filter and a 6 bulb T5 lighitng system. I haven't started putting things together. Going up to Miami to pick up some of the equipement tomorrow. I'm going to post the entire setup when I'm doing it.

Buy a couple of battery operated air pumps and air stones that turn on automatically when the power goes off. This will keep the water oxygenated. They work on D batteries and petsmart sells themfor about $10.
This will help keep your fish alive longer. I use these when I go on vacation.
