plumbing question

hello everyone,
i want to change my flex plumbing
to PVC. will the PVC cleaner and glue that you use
will that hurt anything in my tank???how would i go about
changing all my plumbing to PVC???without killing anything.

If you let it dry before you run water through it, it should be just fine with the standard cleaner and glue.

Turn off the return pumps, let the tank drain to the sump. Drain the sump into a bucket. Remove flex and install pvc. Let it cure the alloted time, return water to sump start return pump and watch for leaks. Helpful tips buy the pvc cutter its worth the 12 dollars. Buy ball valve rather then gate valves. Make sure you buy all the right type fittings valves and such not threaded and slip if you must mix make sure you buy right adapters. Install unions on anything that may need service and one right before connections to the tank. Good time to add check valves. Try and measure and assemble layout first to save down time. Buy extra of everything if this is your first time doing this. (returns after the tank is back up are easier then 10 trips to hardware store while tanks is down). Leave power heads running in the tank. Just for kicks I used to paint intake and returns diffirent colors but dont do that as much now.

PVC is the way to go, looks real nice too! You can use the pvc glue, but you have to let it dry for atleast 6 hours. It usually dries within an hour or two, but to be on the safe side, let it dry completely for 1 day.

Get the transparent PVC glue, that way you wont be able to see the glue.
