Phosphate removers

I need to get a phosphate media. i am so unsure of which is the best, kents phosphate spone, seachem phosphate guard...anyone have any experience in a phos remover. i will be needing something that goes in a filter bag and into the filter.

i use kents phosphate sponge it works well

I use phospure pads from fosters n smith. they have carbon added for more filtration too.

You really need reactor and use iron oxide as that will never lease the PO4 unlike the aluminum oxide medias will . And if you use the Alum Oxide media the Sea Chems Phosgard is the best i ever used or heard of. All the Iron medias are about the same and several to choose from.

My experience is the same as Tangster. Phosguard was the only 1 that I tried that made a noticeable difference. Later I tried Phosban but didn't see any results. Also had trouble with it getting through the reactor pads and into the aquarium.

phosguard is the white pellets right? I'll get some of that and run it in the filter. Does it matter if I put the bag on top of the carbon or on the bottom?
