 |  Open top over tank
I just had a question in regards to my top being open on my Aquapod 24 gal tank. I orginally bought it a little over a month ago with the fixed top but upgraded the lighting to a coralife 150 metal halide. THe top is open and the only thing above it is the light which is about eight to ten inches from the water. I am not having a heating issue with the metal halides but was wondering if having the top open will be ok for the fish and the corals that I plan to add in the future..... It's better that way so you can have more gas exchange at the surface (like oxygen and such). 2 out of my three tanks have been open top. _________ 125 Gal Reef. I'd agree with Brandon 100% open tanks are far better.. allows the CO'2 out and 0'2 in _________ Some of the world's greatest feats were accomplished by people not smart enough to know they were impossible (Doug Larson) |
