| Ok guys I really need help! OK I just came home today and I noticed couple of tiny white dots on my blue tang I think its ICH I had an ICH outbreak several months ago so I know how it looks. I have added Coral beauty and cleaner wrasse about 3 weeks ago I think it came with the cleaner. I don't think that the fish are stressed they eat well and swim alot looking happy.
What can I do should I leave it for now or should I start medicating the tank? The only think is I don't want to loose my corals. I have see fan, gonipora, sabe, and some mushrooms what should I do Help !!!

| Re: Ok guys I really need help! You could also look into a product called Greenex.
Supposedly it is invert and reef safe.
Please if anyone knows anything different let me know.
If the fish is still moving and looks somewhat hearty, you could try a fresh water dip. Take some RO water, acclimate it so that it has the same temp as the tank, put the sick fish in the RO move it back and forth for a few seconds and return him to the tank. This ussually kills off most parasites, but can harm a fish if it is very weak.
I also know that it is helpful to have cleaner shrimps and some gobies that eat these types of parasitic pests in the tank.
Hope to have helped and that all goes well. _________ &&&&20 Gal. , Millenium 1000 & 2000 filter, 130watt Corallife 50/50 reef lamp. | Re: Ok guys I really need help! but if I setup a Q tank it doesn't have the bacteria in there so ammonia will build up quickly
Once before I had an ICk outbreak I treated tank with Green-ex and it worked well. In a week the ICH was gone and never returned although I had no corals in there just one anemone which I lost due to green-ex. I also had lots of snails hermit rabs and some peppermint shrimps and I just lost 1 hermit and 1 emerald crab.
I don't really want to catch half of my fish and put them all in non cycled tank.
What if I put all my orals in a 20 gal tank with some sand and LR from my main tank will they survive for a week or two ? during the treatment? |
