My friend had a similar problem come to find out he hadn't blown off his LR in a year and there was a ton of detritus on his rock. But I would start by checking the water that you're introducing to the tank and work from there.

cool. yes i try to blow off the rock as much as possible but I do neglect that a bit. well I will keep u all posted. talk tonight. thanks all.

ok, came home did my test. My ro water tested 0 for nitrates. I tested the tank everything is where it should be except my nitrates...looks to be 40ppm. Nothing is dead, everything is there but I did notice bubbles in my substrate which is not sand it's a larger aragonite crushed coral, so now is it water changes that will help me?

I would do a 40% water change now and make sure your skimmer is running properly.

I can't do a water change right now, I have no water made up. The plan is tomorrow night first thing when I get home. I am about to make the water now.
