That sounds like the american way. Everybody expects instant gratification just like when they go to the store or a fast food restaurant. They want it now, they get it now. That doesnt work when it comes to animals. Animals wheter it be fish/corals, dog or cat. There is a set way of doing things, if you go against it, sometimes you might be ok and nothing major happen, but most of the time its a total loss.

Karma to you for trying to do the right thing. Sounds like you just need to have a talk with him and explain to him why things happen the way they happen...

sounds similar to what i did. 
only I havent had to get rid of anything, luckily the spike i had was a mini spike for the amount that i stocked.
good luck with it and i hope he gets on the right track, theres alot of money to loose in bigger tanks, plus the lives of the little fishes.
I too would help to keep something till he can get it established. but my 60 gallon is pretty full. | |

I'm taking frogspawn, montipora, mushrooms, anemone and maybe grouper (according to chart should be ok, i don't have anything small enough for it to eat). he also has a flounder (wierd kid) does anyone know anything about a flounder in an aquarium? apparently it's not very common. | |

nah i didn't take any fish and anemone died already, so i got monti, frogspawn, shrooms and xenia. all acclimating now. | |

especially the nem. I would kill to have a good healthy carpet anenomy even though they have been know to eat live stock. lol.
