| LFS Guy OK here's the news. I just got hired by Exotic Aquariums in the sunny Miami, FL. Nothing fancy (except for the pay-cut ). I'll just be one of those LFS guys you talk to about the fish you're trying to buy, and the guy carrying your 5 gal buckets of salt water to your car.
I know that there are a few 3reefers in this field. I wanted a heads up, and to know who they are. Forming kinda like a union of LFS guys.
Any advice, suggestions, or thoughts would be great. _________ &&&&20 Gal. , Millenium 1000 & 2000 filter, 130watt Corallife 50/50 reef lamp. Maroon Gold-striped Clown, Pygmy (Cherub) Angel, Skunk Cleaner shrimp, 8 Turbo Snails, 1 unknown cone snail , a branch of red grape calerpa , Sun Polyps, Blue-Green Striped shroom, Red shroom, Zoo Polyp colonies, & Green Star polyps, green monti. |

| Re: LFS Guy David,
Congrats "LFS Guy"! ...everyday thought passes thru my mind to quit current job and get one like yours...
"LFS Guy" union sounds like a good idea...you should think up secret handsigns, handshakes and maybe even have a "distinctive" tattoo to distinguish yourselves from us mere "LFS Guy" wannabe's
Am sure you will do great...
Good Luck,

| Re: LFS Guy Congrats David! What a blast. Just remember to ask a lot of clarifying questions as most hobbiests don't have a clue of what they want. As you know its not just about putting fish and corals in some salt water,eh?

| Re: LFS Guy LFS guy here 2 words of advice get thick skin and be tolerant. It is frustrating to your customers when they lose livestock and they will blame you (even if their Ammonia levels read like battery acid) but don't take it personally and look for the bright spots like when someone does listen and comes back for more totally jacked up about the hobby _________ Starting over with a 210 RR from All Glass, Lifereef Berlin sump, skimmer (installed) and calcium reactor (ordered). Aquatraders Catalina 72" 3x400 mh 10 k/4x96 watt blue PC, Closed Loop with Little Giant 4MDQX-SC and 2- 3/4 Seaswirls. |

| Re: LFS Guy Hey who needs to quit their job to work in a lfs? I work nights at US Cellular, days at Tropi-Quatics and also run a tank maintenance business called The Fish Guy. Did I mention I have 4 kids also? Days are short but life is long live it to the fullest!
More advice to the LFS workers out there remember its ok not to know something, you will make better sales person if you can admit that once in awhile and you will have customers that know more then you so listen. You will have customers that will buy against any advice you give but that can be a lesson also, I have learned alot of compatibility issues lately but still err on the side of caution. |
