Hey PB how is the tank coming along? any new pics?
I am getting ready to buy a tank from glasscages. How did you find the quality? Is the cabinet solid oak or is it harwood plywood? Sealed inside?
I woudl love to hear anyones comments on glasscages stuff. Im trying to decide on whether to get an acrylic or glass, im looking for something around 240G

K9,

Unfortunately, I have not finished my setup...all is still sitting in original boxes waiting for the final assembly. I ran out of discretionary funding for the live rock and sand (will cost me about $1200), and thought that my 3-yr old daughter would be better off going to school during the day than watching the tank. I am targeting a late spring purchase to finally get up and running.

I would highly recommend the Glass Cages tank itself...very high quality construction and pre-drilled overflows. They also provided the bulkheads! As for the stand, it is very good but not solid hardwood, but rather hardwood plywood as you surmized! I did the staining and sealed the wood inside and out. The only problem with the stand is that it was not quite plumb with my floor (I checked the floor and it is exactly level).

All-in-all, I thought is was a great deal. They sell the aquariums on Ebay under the seller Twinoaks02. I only paid a small shipping fee since they do travelling shows and you can pick them up at the show (they have a show listing in their ebay items if you are near any of them). The 90-g I purchase is still listed for $495 with the stand.

As for Acrylic vs Glass, I would prefer glass (don't want to scratch a 240 and get a new one) but you are looking at some serious weight to get it in place.

Let me know how you decide or if I can get you pictures of the dry tank and cabinet.

thanks, I appreciate the response. PLumbness? hum, thats partly the reason im upgrading. My 95G is a little off plum, and im afraid that as it stands (or not) it is a ticking time bomb. There is roughly about 1cm left to right difference.
