Default Installation

Im Going to order a UV sterilizer tomorrow and im not sure how they are supposed to be installed , Can I run the water from my HOT Magnum canaster outlet ~> through the UV ? I think If i do that it will slow down the GPH ( 250 GPH ) on the HOT Magnum and I dont know if that is good for the thing , I defenatly dont want to burn the motor up on it , so question #1 can I safely run a UV sterilizer from the outlet on my HOT or would it mess it up . And I cant make my mind up on 3 different UV sterilizers so here they and if anybody can tell me which one is the best . #1 Aqua UV Advantage 2000 #2 Aqua UV Advantage 2000 + or #3 Coralife turbo twist 3X 9Watt. Thanx for the help ppl.

I recently just bought a UV filter. I would say get the most wattage you can for your budget.

Below are 2 links that we talked about the UV filters.

As far as your HOT goes I personally would not use that , but really depends on the size of UV you get. You may want to follow the advice on those threads and one the comes to mind it the MAX GPH on each unit. My unit max was something like 760 GPH so I went with a MAG 3 pushing 350 GPH. so divide your max by half or more and this will leave your water exposed longer to the UV light and the better off you will be.

I ordered the 15 watt Aqua UV Advantage 2000 + . what does 80,000 l-'w/cm2 @ 200 gph mean ?? and is that good or bad ?

I would guess that this is the intensity of light hitting the water at 200 GPH. but I am not the expert. MOJO and INwall would know. PM one of them.
