Hey Matt,,,
Next time use one of those inflatable rafts that you lay on, keeps you from going under or one of those noodle floats under your arms,,,
By the way, did you test the water and what were the readings??? |

| Re: I Swam For My Natural Sea Water. Finally, you've got water. Sweet. Continental shelf, yes we get some upwelling from it, it's origin is the gulf of Alaska.

What the heck are you talking about Craig? [smiley=smug2.gif]
CMKII, I haven't tested it yet, I dug through my old salt stuff and all I could find is a copper test. lol. So I need to order a kit. I'll try to take it to a lfs to test soon. Come to think of it, I couldn't find my hydrometer either! I obvisiously have some work left to do. |

| Re: I Swam For My Natural Sea Water. Hey Matt,
You already know everyone thinks your crazy! Here's a little tidbit for ya. I just checked the NOAA website, and the Sea Surface temperature is a little lower than you thought. It's a comfortable 51.6 degrees. How's a wetsuit sound now, buddy?

| Re: I Swam For My Natural Sea Water. Been a week, but I tested the water at a lfs today while I am waiting for some test kits in the mail.
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
pH: 8.8!
Alkalinity: In the 'ideal' range*
*Cheapo 'quick dip' test kit readings. Probably not very accurate.
Not sure what the high pH is about, but I'll know more when I do more accurate tests. Otherwise pretty encouraging.
