| Have you tried not using the kalk to see if its the reason for such high Alk? Something is keeping your alk so high. What else do you put in your tank? Do you use baking soda? Have you tested the water that comes out of the ro unit? |

| I just started using the kalkwasser solution, but have always had a real bad problem with algae. I've tried everything suggested! Recently with the addition of kalkwasser I have been putting in epsom salts to raise my magnesium, other than that I use flake food(every other day a pinch, when I remember to) and every now and then I use a 1/2-1/4 cube of cyclopeeze
I don't use baking soda. I tested my new ro/di filters with my tds meter and it's down to 18 ppm. That's a whole lot better than it used to be!
ro/di water
pH less than 7.0(tester doesn't go any lower)
kh-0 the water never turned blue, directly to yellow which says it's soft water.
tank water
KH was 14, it is way down since I did the water change.
my NO2 is <0.3 mg/l
Ammonia is 0mg/l
Magnesium is back down to 600 I can't keep that up though.....
Calcium is a perfect 420
my pH in the tank is down to a low of 7.7 wow that's low!

| Somethings killing off your Mg. Ph and alk are related so I dont know why your ph is so low. Its b/c of your Mg so low. Raise your Mg and your ph should go back to normal. Theres gotta be something going on that is chemically off balancing your levels. Try something that I have been using lately that has kept all my levels balanced. Its from Kent Marine and its called OSMO. I havent put any other additives since I've been using this. Just add it to your ro water when topping off. I hope this helps you, Luna |

| I will try it! I'll try anything within reason!
Matt, yes I did win that pump and honestly I had to put my old piece of junk back in because it just wasn't enough. Not at all as powerful as I thought it would be...but a great prize none the less...
