| Hope, pray and very stressed, I am! Well, I am leaving for Myrtle Beach on Friday for three weeks! I am going for two reasons ne is to get away for some R+R and visit my parents who live there, and support my father who is going in for heart surgery!!!!
I am sure everything will be fine with my father!
The thing that really is stressing me out is the fact that my tanks are going to be out of my hands for the three weeks that I'm gone! My girlfriend is going to watch them for two weeks and then my friend is watching them for the other week! Pretty scarry, that I am more worried about my fish tanks than my fathers surgery!!! I know my father is going to be in good hands whereas it is a coin toss with the care of my tanks!!!
It is going to be alot of communicating with my girlfriend as to what to do and how to best feed and take care of the tanks!
The lights and heater are taken care of as they are on timers and thermostat control...Feeding and replacing evaporated water are the big issues as if she feeds too much, I can just imagine what the tanks will look like algae wise and parameter wise! She is best to underfeed!!! She also has to feed our small Snowflake eel to ensure that it is eating!
Wish me and the care givers of my reefs all the best!
I don't want to even think about what would happen if I had a power failure!!!! _________ 125gal.w/Mag9.5 return(dual megaflow)>Mag7 pump Aqua Cev180skimmer.Wave2k Hamilton Reefstar(2)250watthqi(mh)pend.a Yellow, Naso Tang Red Lip Blenny Percula Clown Demoiselles Niger Trigger F. | Positive thinking equals positive outcomes. Not to worry about your tank, your GF will do just fine. I will sacrifice a goat tonite for the reef gods to look over your tanks(JK). I will have your dad in my thoughts. Good luck with everything. | Bring your jacket will be cool highs in th elow 60's to low 70's this time of year here (lol) I thinks you will be the one on the beach with the shorts on. My prayers and thought go out to your father and tanks, you have given me great info so I think the tanks will be ok. I second luna with the goat and the reef gods will look after your tanks. Simon.

| i had the same fear when i recently went on va-ca, leaving my tank with my g/f 21 yr old sister. i measured out foods in a 7 day med. container. bottled up some filtered water, and did a water change right befor i left. when i got back,to my surprize my tank was better than when i left it. my nitrates dropped from 20 ppm to 10ppm. proly because i wasent there tinkering with it constantly.

| Makes you wonder what would happen if we just left our tanks along for a while and let nature take its normal course. We all get in trouble b/c we're always tinkering with it. Again, we're just "trying" to recreate prefection. |
