Default high calcium, 18, kh 8

I have a very different situation. My calcium reads very high all the time
Anu suggestions. Cleaned my heater but it did not make much of a difference.

Salt: .020
Calcium: 18
KH: 8
PH: 8.4
NO3: 10
NO2: 0
Ammonia: 0
Phosphate: 0

One more ? I just got a feather duster what do I feed it? Have never put anything in the tank but brine shrimp, once a day.

Thanks
KWC

are you dosing and how much? I never "feed" my feather duster, I belive they are filter feeders and do you always keep your salt level that low? Mine is .024

Whats the magnesium level in the water. Yes you also need to kick the specific gravity of the water up also way o low for a fetaherduster or reef type invert or fish

Figured it was something simple, ok did a water change kicking up the salinity to .024. Feather duster came out for the first time in 2 days. Thought I had starved him to death

Only things I have put in the tank are Calcium, alk buffer.

What else should I be adding?

Thanks 2 both of you!

I'm not quite sure that there is anything to add to lower the calcium. Last time that happened to me, I stopped dosing for a while until it came down. I would check the levels every other day so it would not get too low. Now I only dose every 10 days. I am using the less is more approach. Working for me.

Make sure your salinty doesn't get any higher than .025 and use only RO to top off.

Glad to be of help!
