Default Help Me Pick A New Doser

My Kent Marine I.V. works ok but I am always playing catchup or slowdown with the water level due to evap and additives in the make up water slowing things down.

It seems that my I.V. mod works as far as preventing a complete clog, but I still have trouble controlling drip rate. Also an occasional kalk bomb gets dropped in my tank. That's not cool.

So I am looking for a good doser...

Thing is, I don't have a sump and have limited space on the top of my tank, so this makes it tricky. For instance, I was looking at a kent marine float switch but it would stick out right under the halide.

Something I think would work is from Tunze and attaches on the side of the tank:

3155 OSMOLATOR UNIVERSAL

Calcium Dispenser 350x140mm

This would be sweet coupled with the reactor/holding tank, but it's not cheap. However it may be worth it. (Crap it's sold out at Premium Aquatics and Marine Depot.)

Any suggestions?

What about just getting a better flow valve. Like a John Guest This would move the valve away from the end of the tube and cut down on chrystalization
Check out John Guest Web site
It sure would be the less expensive way of doing things.

Tdevil has plans for a DIY doser and is just like the 300 dollar ones you see for sale.

I'd go with a parastitic doser (used medical = cheap) Matt. I'll dig up some sources for you later.

That's a good idea Gresh, but I've got the Tunze spell taking over on me. *

The Osmomat 5024 at the bottom of this page will keep water level constant to the millimeter.

I like that. *
