A few weeks ago I was looking at my tank at night and noticed a gorilla crab marauding through my live rock. It must have been a hitch-hiker on a coral frag or something. Anyway, I've been trying to catch him for the longest time but he was too wily.

Last night I saw him picking at one of my mushroom frags, so I quickly lifted the frag into a small container and picked off the crab with tweezers. Finally he's history! Just wanted to share my relief with others who may understand. My wife was fairly grossed out by the whole thing.

Unfortunately he did not survive the experience, since it was difficult to pick him out of his hidey-hole in the rock. I thought I might stick him in the fuge if he had survived. Oh well. But at least my corals and small fish are safe from him now.
