| Feeling very discuraged I am really feeling discuraged with all the work I do to keep my tank, and how easy things just go haywire.. it seems like im fighting some sort of neverending war. I may pull the plug soon.. I have felt this way in the past but got through it. *I just dont know.... the amount of time doesnt seem to equal the benifits . |

| Re: Feeling very discuraged Now, now.....chin up! Reefs are definitely a commitment...and this time of year, when things are so very hectic...it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the tanks.
Take a deep breath....take it easy....and just commit to get through say, the next week or so and after the holidays...when things are a bit calmer....you may feel better.
Or at least have a bit clearer head....I would hate to see a fellow reefer tear down a tank and be sorry a few weeks later.... _________ I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Re: Feeling very discuraged Ick...your tank has ick??? didn't see where that was posted...
what about a diatom filter?? about $80 bucks online (petsmart.com) and their suppose to help with the ick. Of course the ick has to be floating around to capture it...but maybe a schedule with the diatom filter daily will get them out...
Your not alone Madman, I too am thinking of getting away from saltwater for now. The tank is at my GF house, so I have very little control over who plays with it. And it seems lately, A LOT of people are sticking their hands, and other objects, in there. Her family just doesn't seem to get it, I have repeatedly asked to leave it alone. And they won't. So I may have to let it go until I can get my own tank.
Good luck, and Merry Christmas all.

| Re: Feeling very discuraged WELL all of the fish that had ICK now died off. The very last one was a yellow tang that I tried to medicate but no luck.. so now the main tank still looks good.. no signs of it on anyone else yet.
Thanks for all the help! |

| Re: Feeling very discuraged Does UV kill ICK? What did you do to cure your ICK?
I don't have it, but am asking. With what I have invested now, what is the cost of a UV device?
Cheers,
Ray
