  | Re: equipment turned off during feeding????? I keep everything on, the main reason is that turning on and off electical item causes issues. Like take a fan and turn it on and let it run and run even though it build up dust it still runs, but as soon as your turn it off the fan won't start back up you have to sit there and pound on it a few times. I do however take my pumps apart ever 2 months to clean and maintain, just don't turn them off during feeding and other maintainance. |

| Re: equipment turned off during feeding????? Just powerheads shut down thanks to the nifty "feed timer" on the tunze powerheads with multicontroller. I push the button, PH's go off for about 10 minutes and restart automatically. Overflow and returns are still on tho. _________ I Love My Sig By John Hawkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Re: equipment turned off during feeding????? Now that I have the x10 setup I can easily control everything from my computer. I can setup a macro that will shut down multiple appliances with one click....ie powerheads. |

| Re: equipment turned off during feeding????? I have my sump, skimmer and 1 powerhead that sucks air out of my overflow. Those I turn off when feeding, otherwise the flakes just go right into the sump! All my other powerheads stay on, give the crew something to chase
