| Re: Electric bill costs to be honest, i really dont know, wife handles the money, im not allowed to handle it because she knows where it would go
to give you an estimate on how much it would be for yours you can see how much it costs per watt (on your bill) and take everything that you plan to run and add it up, this will help you figure it out
Watts = Voltage x Amps
The Electric Company measures use in Watts, hence:
120V * 2.6A = 312 Watts
also think about the increades cost from the MH in the summer from running the air cond, it will run more

What kind of devil are you?
ANYWAY, funny how people don't think about electricity when they start adding all these lights to their tanks until they see the bill.
Sometimes I see these setups and think buying a greenhouse would be cheaper.
Bob Goemans has his tank supplemented with solar power which I thought was pretty cool.
I'd love to see someone here go that route. There are some small wind power generators that could power your tank and your house!
Sell that to your wife tdevil! [smiley=biglaugh.gif] |

| Re: Electric bill costs no worries, Matt
wife handles the money, because of all the tanks that i have and my roadrunner in the back garage, we aould be broke
on another note, i new it was going to raise the electric bill, but to be honest i dont care, i think it is worth the extra cost
there are also other things that add to the cost, but most of those i try to make my self, for example: instead of paying $70-$90 for a dosing pump, i am going to DIY one for about $20
so spending more on certin things but saving on others
