| Eco-Aqualizer I was reading, Tropical Fish Hobbyist, magazine today and something caught my eye. It is a product that is supposed to reduce the amount of water changes necessarry as well as no replacement parts ever needed. Sounds good. As they say if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. I just wanted to run it by all of you and see what your thoughts might be on this product. Here is a link to the video they use to market this product. Click here it uses Quicktime to view _________ "The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing"

| chetrod you have stumbled upon the most controversial piece of equiptment in aquarium history- I have seen threads turn into battlegrounds of those who love it and those who say it is sheer nonsense. That being said I have one and fall into the camp of those who really like it. I also know of one of my areas largest saltwater shops who has been trying them out and they seem really pleased with thier results so far- but again for everyone who loves it there is another who seems to really be against it( although I haven't heard from anyone who uses one that's ever complained) and both camps seem to have thier own supporting facts- good luck in your choice! |

| I wish the Inland Reef site was still up. They broke one down and showed the insides. It was a plastic tube with magnets electrical taped to it.

| That product is made of very weak magnets, card board and black electrical tape. There is a similar product for use as a water conditioner to remove hard water deposits from tap water. Consumer reports did a test with it and came to the conclusion that it is bogus. The theory behind it is that the magnets will rip apart the electrical bonds of the molecules. If this was true, then we would not be able to use MRI scanners people because they use some of the most powerful magnets in the world. It would destroy the bonds between molecules and kill us. _________ 75g reef with Nova Extreme 8 bulb HO T-5 lighting, refuge, Remora skimmer, DSB, Seio powerheads, Acro's, LPS corals, assorted zoo's & mushrooms, Yellow Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Cleaner Goby , Cleaner, Fire and Sexy Shrimp, Coco Worm, T.Crocea Clam, Derasa Clam
