Dead Spot?

Is a dead spot somewhere where slime algae would acumilate?

Yes, good to change the flow around untill you can minimize the dead zones as much as possible.

Dead zones always seem to be in our tanks, but an additional water jet/power head helps some times along with good solid water flow off the main return.
These dead zones are the lack of flow / light ( mostly from the lack of good water flow ).
Waste will build in these areas thereby causing algea growth.
It helps to have a good tank cleaning crew and not over feeding the tank .
Generaly the main cause i,e it falls to bottom gets into a dead spot, then starts to decay thereby causing phosphates/nitrates to build and
Waaaa-laaa , you have algae blooms.

ok cheers guys will have a play with power heads, i have a chalk goby and he is superb at turning over the sand but the slime algae in one spot is back in a day...

yeah i ahd that problem in this spot right at the front of the tank, it turned out i think to be a spot were alot of snail poop collected, that stuff is dense sinks right to the bottom.

Nah no poop its in the front left corner of the tank
