Cycle question

This new tank has been cycling for almost a week. My question is, Is is normal for me having to put new water ( one gallon) in my tank every other day. Another question, It seems like I'm emptying out my protein skimmer cup every day with greeninsh-brown liquid and some foam, is that normal?

Evaporation will occur. It should be replaced with fresh water not Salt water.
Also as evaporation occurs it is pulling fresh water out meaning the salinity in the tank is going up as water is evaporating.
You may need to fine tune your skimmer for a "dryer" foam. It is also pulling water with the skimate, this water is usually a higher SG than your tank. You can adjust your skimmer to produce less bubbles or have a lower water level. This will give you the ability to fine tune your skimmer skimate production.
I know there are a few CPR users on this board that can talk you through the adjustments, I've never owned one
