| Can we do this and what do you guys think? Ok Amcarrig suggested a contest for photos..I love this idea, can't wait to start. I think it would be really cool if we did a tank of the month. we submit photos of our tank, members vote, and the winners tank is displayed on the main page(or a specific page) until the next month when there is a new winner! No need for prizes as the prize would be your tank being the winner. _________ 20g
25lbs LR
1 hydor koralia
rio nano skimmer FISH: blk/white clown, damsel, yellow watchman goby CORAL: grn open brain, acan, torch, rics, toadstool, zoo's
INVERT:[/u] hermits, nassarius, astrea, turbo's, nerites, crocea clam

| I like the idea. Maybe after the upcoming photo contest, we can do a tank of the month contest for the remaining months of the year! |

| While we are thinking out loud, another forum I'm highly involved in purposely chose NOT to have a tank of the month. Many (probably most) forums eventually have a tank of the month contest. But we didn't choose not to do one for a number of reasons and "being different" was not one of them.
Here was our thought process and I would like to "Throw the spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks". - What if someone has an amazing tank but has poor photography skills?
- What if someone has an awesome tank, has awesome photography skills, but they only post to "Toot their own horn" and wouldn't take 2 minutes to help someone else if you held a gun to their head.
- What if the tank has amazing potential but needs some "maturing time" but they will help anyone with the drop of the button?
- Yada, yada, yada......
Based on the above, we chose to have a member of the month as opposed to a tank of the month.
Like I said, I'm just throwin' spaghetti..... _________ Curt |
