How can one advise when basically every system is slightly to greatly different.
I have seven systems on the go and some are similar but some are drastically different.
The only way to know the needs of your system is to add and test until you find how much takes care of your daily needs.
It will take more at first to get your figures where you want them but testing will show when you do reach that point. Then add less until testing shows a drop in results, indicating that you have to add just a little more.
Most times, at month at the outside may be required to find your needs. |

Forgot to mention that Kalk is the cheapest way I know of, just a bit of a pain to dose nightly as I don't have kalk reactors for my systems.

Acually my plans are to buy the ultra life float switch and a Maxi-jet 1200 from Darin(Captivereefs) to do an auto top off. I'm going to add ESV kalk straight into my reservoir and I'm going to use the ESV B-ionic as well. So I think that should put my calcium in check. _________ http://www.3reef.com/uploads/reefmanMC.jpg&&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck. | |

Don't add the b-Ionic and the kalk at the same time Reefman.

I don't think anyone was telling Reefman to blindly add anything to his tank.
