| Re: bubbles Why are air bubbles a bad thing? I thought they help keep the crushed coral aerated.

| Re: bubbles Is an air pump needed in a quarantine tank? Looks like my little filter is not breaking the surface of the water very well if at all. It is a 10 Gallon with a 5-15 power filter. Not sure if I should add an air stone or not????
Thanks,
Todd

| Re: bubbles Todd,
Adding an air pump/stone certainly wont hurt, but as mentioned you might get a bit of salt creep :-)
If the salt creep isn't a problem then it would probably be beneficial for a QT tank.

| Re: bubbles I do not use a skimmer,
is that ok for me not to have bubbles in my tank ?
I use to think that bubbles were the only way fish could get there oxygen in the tank.
but now I understand that as long as the filter is on the fish are able to breath,
am I corect on that one ? |

Thanks John. I have no problem with salt creep. Nothing a rag every few days can not handle. Isn't the idea of a Quarantine tank to bring the fish back to health and get them ready for the display tank the best way possible for the fish?
Thanks,
T |
