| Thanks. Good luck with your HOB overflow, make sure it don't happen again.
Yeah, plus my wife was getting a little mad at me spending 10 hrs uploading and posting pics all day, haha. |

There is one interesting fact about this aquarium that most wouldn't know. I'm explaining this because it will help people understand the industry a little better. Inside LAX there is a street (104th street to be exact) that is nothing but companies that supply our hobby. On occasion, they'll receive a coral that is illegal to sell. These companies obviously freak out and want them out of their care as soon as possible and a donation is quickly made. As a result, many of the corals you saw cannot be legally owned by most hobbyists.
I didn't even know they had a coldwater reef section because I've never personally visited. The Catalina Gobies and Strawberry Anemones prove otherwise. | Yup, everything they have there can be found in the Pacific, coldwater and tropical. Some of the species they have are threatend or endangered by over-fishing, etc. They have information posted on just about all the major tanks about the fish inside.
I did notice some differences in local nomenclature for some of the fish. For example - Blue/Hippo/Regal Tang they call Palette Tang... |

| Last video, this one is of the reef. This one is a little blurry, but what else can you expect when thousands of greasy little hands from all the field trip kids are touching the glass all day, as you may have noticed in other pics before. If anyone else goes, and you want good pics, I'd recommend bringing a windex bottle and a clean soft cloth to clean the glass. 100_1492.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting |
