Anyone been to Aquarium of the Pacific?

I got a small trip planned out to Burbank, Ca this summer, so I'm looking for stuff to do while during the day while my wife's at work. I found there is the Aquarium of the Pacific out in Long Beach, not too far from Burbank. Is it worth the trip? I'll probably do one of those "behind the scenes" tours where you get to see the pump rooms and skimmers the size of a dump truck.

Anything else to do out near Burbank?
I found a shooting range, but you need a party of 2 (suicide prevention, insurance reasons at that shooting range) and it's only me.

Also gonna tour the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory while I'm there.

I went there as a kid. Definitely recommended. Any locals aquariums are cool. Even the one in Newport, Or. All coldwater species.

Sea World San Diego is only 3 1/2 from where you'll be. Mexico is about 4 hours. I'd atleast recommend going a little further south for the day. L.A. can be a bit much.
