Anybody know about this site?

I have a DSB (yeah, I know) and was looking to get some interesting infauna. As far as I know, this site is the only one to sell brittle stars and sand bed clams:

It seems a bit pricey and the ordering system is weird, but who can resist mini stars and clams? Has anybody had any experience with them or could recommend another option?

(They seem kinda like the anti-GARF: really worried about ex-customers setting up shop and competing with them.)

When was the last time you re-boosted the working sand fauna ? It should be done yearly because the bugs die faster then the multiply .. As for starts and bed clams they can be found all over the net.. Look to inland aquatics and or reeftopia and if not contact me I can send you what you need .

Many many moons ago, I placed an order with IPSF for a detritivore kit and while they are honest and shipped as promised, I did end up with aiptasia and red flatworms after adding their products. I contacted their customer service area by e-mail to give them a heads up (didn't ask for a refund, nothing) and I was pretty much ignored. Now, that's not to say that their customer service hasn't improved since then but my experience with them wasn't the greatest.

Our club did a sort of group order with them not too long ago and everything went great.

Tangster, what exactly do you mean by recharging the sandbed? Do you have mini stars? What kind? What do sandbed clams do?

I added GARF grunge a maybe 9 or 10 months or so, so I think it's about time. I was thinking mini stars and clams because, in addition to being interesting, they won't compete with my snails for algae on the rocks and glass. Didn't see clams at inland aquatics or reeftopia, but the mini stars from inland aquatics are cheaper and the ordering process looks much easier.

If you run and depend on a DSB for your system then you really need to add new sand fauna all the little magic bugs die off over a period of a yr or so and then the sand bed dies off . The clams work all in and trough the bed and filter it out and keep it somewhat stirred up..

The mini stars we have you never see they hide and are only see up under and with in corals and rocks I see no competition of them and the others seems there is plenty for all to eat.. We have rubble and sand that we are selling for our systems that have been up and running for 15 yrs .. Its just time to add new bottom media as the stuff we use it about depleted of its minerals and just good for pods and worms and other sand fauna much like anyone who farms corals commercially will have after this many yrs..
