| 5 hr power outage....nerve racking :-/ Well with the storms that went through central Indiana today I was pacing the house knowing that the tank temp and oxygen was depleting quickly when the power went out.
After about 2 hrs I fired up my father in laws generator and had my CL running but generator was not able to push 220v for the rest of the tank. I think that hole house generator I have been putting off will be installed by the end of this month. We have lost power 4 times in the last 6 months and I don't think it's going to get any better. Time to just bite the bullet and get it done. _________ Scott 265g (Peninsula)

I also need to figure something out, I have acess to a generator but if I'm not home how do I know electric is out?? Let me know what you decide, that would be cool to be able to help you with that. _________ 55 gallon slowly growing reef aquarium, 85 lbs. live rock, 2 1/2" sandbed, 1 False Percula Clown, 1 Sixline Wrasse, 1 Mandarin Goby, Tetratec PF500 filter, 2 110 watt URI Super Actinic VHO actinics, 2 250 watt metal halides with Reef Optix 2 reflectors powered by Blue Wave 3 ballast, born 1/3/08 My Tank Thread My Tank Video |

| I will have it shipped to the house and hook it up myself. Getting a automatic switchgear and the generator will cycle every week for 20 minutes to stay in good shape. You can help me pack it to the pad on the other side of the house from the garage, will be more then I can lift myself. Quote:

North Vernon, IN got hit real bad and that is where my power grid comes from. Trees are down everywhere but no tornadoes were sighted just straight line winds. |

You'll like the automatic transfer switch. What size generator are you going to use? Deisel? Natural Gas?

You'll like the automatic transfer switch. What size generator are you going to use? Deisel? Natural Gas? | I have been looking at these for almost 7 months now and last night just put it on top priority. Our toilet in the basement was running a little last night for almost 3 hrs before I notice it and with out no sump pump running then all the water was in the basement. We have carpet and pads hanging outside today. Looks like rednecks live there today.
The generator will be LP as we already have a tank outside and I don't want to store fuel at the house with kids around. Anyway when the power goes out the gas stations are not pumping gas so once I run out of stock I would be SOL. |
