Default 40mm diamond coated hole saw

Total cost $8.50 includes shipping. I am getting ready to turn a 30 gallon tank into a fuge/ wetdry to get everything in one location and leak free. I found the bit on ebay usually costs about 60 dollars so I figured I would order one and give it a shot.

yup i used the same exact bit last weekend to drill my tank the only adive the people at the hardware store gave me was to not use the bit over and over it is more or less disposable. the diamonds fall off pretty easy, but it got the job done.

Home depot has drill bits for drilling slate and things of that nature. Impatient me decided to get one of these b/c I didn't want to wait and 10 gallon tanks are cheap. I've only cracked one of four 10 gals so far and that was because I was drilling too fast, with no water to lube the drill. Yup, deserved it!

Anyways, the HD drill bits have a pre-drill or alignment bit in the center. A dremil will make quick work of that lil bugger and you've got the same bit as that dude from hong kong ships to the US. Not sure if the HD one is made in the good ol' USA (I'd hope so) but at least its available now and works great (if you have a dremil to remove the center of the bit).

FWIW HTH

Cheers all!

Drilled the tank today with a spray bottle of water and a good drill drilled it like butter and the hole was perfect. For $8.50 can't beat it.
I couldn't find one big enough at HD and the ones online here in the US were going for over 40 dollars
