| Re: what to try something Most minnows are in the carp family which means they should be egg scatterers. Most species in the carp family will readily breed in captivity. Danios are the first close relatives that come to mind and they breed like crazy in the aquarium. I'm sure that they will breed it's just a matter of feeding the young and keeping the parents from eating them. Most likely the baby minnows would have to be fed Infusoria(green water) or Cyclopseeze and the only way to keep the parents from eating them would be to either remove the parents or keep them in a heavily planted tank. I honestly don't think it would be worth the effort, but if you decide to try it let me know if you're successful. _________ &&Right now I'm in the middle of a conversion from reef to Discus/ planted aquarium. Hair algae beat me down. Maybe a nano in the future. Everything screwed up so I'm converting to FOWLR. Wish me luck. |
