| | 3reef Moderator | What Frag mounting product do you use? So Last night I used up the last of this stuff
And now I'm looking for a better solution.
you know I've been in this hobby awhile now and the one thing I can't figuure out is haw to place corals in the tank so that something doesn't knock them over.
I need to find the best way to attach SPS to my rock work. Not to rubble that can be removed and dryed but to the main large rocks that I can not remove from the tank.
If anyone has some tips please let me know.
Thanks
Jason |

| I use crazy glue, lots and lots of crazy glue.
I put it on the frag then smush it onto the rock and twist it a little to displace water, sometimes I need to do it twice

| | 3reef Moderator | Ya I was thinking of Switching to Gel glue.
I have used it in the past and found I don't use it often enough and it drys out. But I think it would be worth it.

| | 3reef Moderator | According to GARF.org they highly advise against using "Krazy" glue products
Check out this page http://www.garf.org/algae2/glue_evalu.html
It a hard page to read do to the back ground image but the first line basically says the only glue to recieve a bad report was crazy glue.
It dosen't say it dose bad things to water or anything. So I guess if it's working for you ....

IC-Gel works great. You can smear a dab on your rock underwater and a dab on the sps frag. Hold in place about 30 seconds and you should be good to go. Most hobby stores sell this product. Get the gel form.

J | everyone of those products they reviewed is the same "cyanocrylate"
Krazy glue is thin, so it easly becomes messy
go for the thick hobbybrand super glue labled cyanocrylate and you'll be fine
if you need to be very creative like i try to be....
i do not recommened doing this but i do it all the time---... I drain the tank half way down and glue the frags down in the tank above the water line and fill it back uo....
becouse the epoxy will make my skimmer go nuts!!!! but draining and refilling the tank with glueing down the frags has had no bad effect
just don't take to long to fill er back up..
yes i use several water juggs... |

| Yeah Cyanoacrylates are the best. They work even better if you use a spray accelerator on the rock, also available at hobby stores. Remember it's ok to take MOST corals out of the water (for reasonable periods of time say... a low tide max), this makes working with them and glue much easier. I also like to scrub dry the rock where I'm gonna glue my frag and pat dry the frag before applying the glue. _________ &&&&20 Gal. , Millenium 1000 & 2000 filter, 130watt Corallife 50/50 reef lamp. | I use super glue gel. The thicker it is the better. That was the problem i found with Krazy glue gel-it is not thick enough. |
