Default tank cycle question?

I recently set up a 12g nano using 60% water from my buddy's tank that has been established for over 2 years and 40% new water. Anyone have a guess at cycle time for this scenario? thanks!

Cycle depends what you are putting in tank besides water. Live rock? Live sand? - if from same cycled tank, not a worry.

Water from an established tank will NOT alter or speed up the cycling process IMO! The live sand and live rock is what will help to aid in the cycling process taking its course along with the possible addition of damsels or similar fish! The sand or rock taken from an established tank will go far to ensure your tank will cycle effectively and quicker than by not using the two forms of biological filtration.
An estimate would be around a month or so given the proper methodology and proecedure.
have you read any articles regarding tank cycling?
