Better get a skimmer and build a small sump HI,
There is a small skimmer by coralife that I've used make a big differnance in water quality.
For some reason saltwater is less forgiving of bioloads than fresh so start small and add only 1 -2 fish at time take it slow.
Better get a small 20 gal sump I built one out of a old 20 gal and hung my skimmer in it and it fits on the floor behind the tank, this add a couple gallons to the column and helps buffer the load.
A mini DSB in the sump will prevent alot of problems;
You can hide a small tugnston heater their too.

Shrimp my favorites are skunks small hermits help and nassirus snails are excellent sand cleaners avoid stars and other stirrers Ive had bad luck with are Cukes they are very tempermental and can fowl a tank if they bump into the heater.
this little sump has saved me a couple times when I over feed.
this sump was behind a little 20 gal my first tank.
