Default Found a used saltwater setup. Is it a good deal?

72 Gallon Bowfront Aquarium w/ Extras

I'm considering making this guy an offer but have no idea what it's worth. Is his asking price reasonable or should I offer less? Is it a steal at $400? Thanks.

Thats probably not a bad price

The HOT filter and that skimmer are IMO worthless

the lights bulbs probably need replacing and there expensive $30 a piece or so, probably needs all new bulbs, age of the tank has to be considered also, leaks aren't fun, i'd pay no more than $300 for everything, if its in pretty reasonable shape

The tank along is worth around $400.00. All the other stuff is b.s.(imo) I think you need to ask alot more Q's. How old is the tank, does it leak, does it have any stratches(where), how old is the light fixture, bulbs, any rust. I dont know if he stated it, but does it come with another tank(sump or refug)? The one that he kept referring to as a quarantine tank. If this deal comes with two tanks(main and sump/refug.) I wouldnt pay anymore than $300.00 for it. I would also go and look(inspect) at it.

Lights and skimmer gonna need replacing. Is a 72 gallon really what you want? - Remember, you probably want to live with for a long time to come.

If you can swing it, you may want a larger tank, which there are good deals out there also.

Your decision.

It doesn't come with a stand but I proced one today and it's about $300 new. Nothing fancy, just a pine stand painted black. it's got 2 doors to access storage below.

72 gallon is where I want to start. Everything I do seems to snowball out of control and I'm trying to limit myself on this one. My GF and I were originally gonna get a small goldfish tank and 2 weeks later it already went from that to a small 16gal bowfront saltwater to now a 72 gallon tank, haha. Anyhow I'm gonna check it out this week and I'll be sure to test the bulbs and make sure it passes the water test before handing over any cash.
