Cleaning Coraline

Does anyone have a tip for cleaning coraline off your tank when its empty? my metal scraper isnt doing the job. ive broke down my tank and need to clean it up, thanks

I always use a razor blade and it works a treat.

Ohh and I've used a brillo pad on an empty tank before and that worked really well too.

I have just taken down 2 tanks. The first (a 120g show tank), I let the tank dry out for a couple of days, then placed it in the grass in the backyard, using a garden hose with a low flow rate to keep the glass wet (and let me see what I've cleaned), using a metal blade scraper. It has worked well. For the heavy scraping, I rolled the tank around so that the glass I was working on was on the ground.

I always dry mine out in the sun for a while, then wet it down some to get it damp, then scrape it off.

You would be shocked at how much quicker it goes if you also keep it wet with white vinegar

i took an old tooth brush and vinegar and it came right off, with out any problems at all there were some spots that wouldnt come off, but i just used my finger nails and scratched it right off.

Ditto on the vinegar! Gets off salt creep as well!
