Personal Observations -

The Royal Gramma is a home run for a reef tank. First of all it is one beautiful fish - the color combo is an eye grabber! And equal to that is its personality. Generally mellow, but can be quirky. It will get in a staring contest with you and make faces like opening its big mouth.

Although it likes caves when it is in the mood, it does come out front a lot and it an interesting swimmer as it can stop on a dime.

The one I had in an old tank would eat any meaty food I threw in there.

Due to its color, ease of feeding, compatibility, and personality - the Royal Gramma Basslet is an easy pick for 3reef's fish on the month.

Mine is a hidder, but I will say it is beautiful.
Mine will also eat anything I throw in the tank

Any idea if anyone is breeding these guys? Great looking fish, but I am really trying to stay aquacultured. I have been focusing on corals, but would not mind getting a few fish. Everyone has aquacultured clownfish, but it is a challange to find anything else.

The only ones I know breeding the Royal Gramma are Proaquatix. They do not sell to hobbyist however, just retailers. However, going from memory, I believe the guys at 3reef Sponsor Premium Aquatics will help you out with that if Proaquatix has any in stock.
